This weekend I took advantage of the gorgeous sunny weather we have been having and took the kayaks out for a paddle down one of the many local waterways in Readings vicinity, in this case it was the Kennet just outside Aldermaston Wharf.

I’d recently got a knock off go pro type camera so decided to to stick that to the front of my kayak and see how the footage came out, the quality of the picture was pretty impressive for a £40 but after speeding it up (because who wants to watch 90mins of river) I noticed a bit of an issue, the shakiness of the footage was pretty painful.

I recalled seeing Microsoft’s Hyperlapse technology get announced a few months ago so decided to give it a go. The results were pretty astounding!

Here is a side-by-side just to show the difference!

Impressive stuff!
